Mikey’s Wednesday Night Singalong #128 – Songs from Under The Influence

Aloha folks, it's been a big time rehearsing Under The Influence with John Shortis & Moya Simpson, and our debut shows on the weekend went really well I'm happy to say, very gratifying. Big thanks to our director Tracy Bourne, our band The Rebrobates, the team at The Q performing arts centre, and the audiences who filled the theatre with warmth and love. Much gratitude to my wife Rose for stepping up last week in my absence and taking care of our kiddos. It's nice to have to time and headspace to return to the family fold, and to our magic Wednesday Nights. Tonight i'll be playing songs from Under The Influence. The show traces stories and songs from my formative years, and I'll include a selection of the covers we did - from Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood to Morricone to Sesame Street - and a handful of original songs old and new. Look forward to seeing you tonight at 8.30pm. xM
